Have you ever had a client who pays for a session with you . . . but never actually schedules it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ve already paid for it, but they can\u2019t pin down a date or maybe they ghost you entirely. You don\u2019t want that session just hanging over your head forever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why you\u2019ve asked us to set automation expiration dates on your packages, so clients have a certain window before their appointments expire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, you know how it works around here: You ask for it, we build it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s right, you can now set an expiration date for your Paperbell packages! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This option lives in your scheduling settings<\/a>. The countdown starts when the package is purchased, and refers to how far in the future clients have the ability to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if your client has only 15 days before their package expires, they can still book the appointment for 30 days from now (as long as that\u2019s within your future limit setting). They have 15 days to get the appointment on the calendar, but the appointment does not have to happen within 15 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your client will receive an automated email 30 days before the expiration, reminding them to book their appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wait! What do I do if I need to \u201coverride\u201d this for one client? Like their packages are about to expire and I want to extend the deadline for them?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We knew you\u2019d ask that! That\u2019s why we built in the ability to override your setting for individual purchases. Here\u2019s the step-by-step on how to do that.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I let my clients know about this policy?<\/strong>
I suggest adding your policy to your terms and conditions<\/a>. And make sure to include it in your contract<\/a> if you use one! You can use this language:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All appointments must be booked within one year of the purchase date. Any remaining appointments that have not been scheduled by one year from purchase will expire and no longer be included in this contract.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is this different from the \u201cExpiry date\u201d setting on my package?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your package expiry date refers to when the package is no longer available for purchase. For example, if you are running a group coaching program that can only be purchased until May 5, you would set that as the expiry date. After May 5 the package will automatically no longer work for your clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appointment expiration refers to when the appointments within your client\u2019s package expire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just changed my expiration settings, what happens to packages purchased before I changed it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your appointment expiration setting will only apply to packages purchased AFTER you made the change. You can individually modify any purchases that were made before the setting change using the process explained here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
