The default is &#8220;Long text&#8221; which allows your clients to fill out a text field, and other question types allow you to enter <strong>Options<\/strong> for them to choose from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Long text<\/strong> &#8211; clients fill out a text field (unlimited characters)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Short text <\/strong>&#8211; clients fill out a text field (up to 255 characters)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dropdown <\/strong>&#8211; clients pick one option from a dropdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select one <\/strong>&#8211; clients check the box next to one option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select many <\/strong>&#8211; clients check the box next to all the options that apply<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scale 1-10 <\/strong>&#8211; clients pick a number between 1 and 10<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/paperbell.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/CleanShot-2025-05-26-at-18.55.11.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3148\" style=\"width:501px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep building out your survey by clicking <strong>Add another question<\/strong>. And when all your questions are in place, click <strong>Save <\/strong>and you&#8217;re done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Copy a survey between packages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the same survey in multiple packages? Save yourself some typing and import a survey from one package into another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, click into the package where you want to add the existing survey. It&#8217;s an automatic email from Paperbell and doesn&#8217;t include customization options. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>My client didn&#8217;t get or can&#8217;t find the survey email. Can they still fill it out?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Direct them to log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/PaperbellClient.com\/\">Client Portal<\/a>. Can I still give them that survey? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You bet. To get to it, click into the the survey from your Surveys tab. You can send them before or after appointments, anywhere from 3 days before to 4 weeks after. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The exception is a survey after the <strong>Final Appointment<\/strong>, which can only go out in the 24 hour window after that appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can I send a survey before a client buys a package?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No. But you can offer a free package to potential clients that includes a survey. You could add this to a <a href=\"https:\/\/paperbell.com\/support\/knowledge-base\/how-do-i-create-a-free-discovery-session\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">free discovery session<\/a>, or even make a package that is only a survey with no appointment attached. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clients tend to purchase packages well in advance of a first session, so they will have plenty of time to complete the survey before your first appointment. \ud83d\ude0a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can I require a survey be filled out before my client can<\/strong> <strong>book an appointment, or do some other action? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nope! <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ok, then can I do a feedback or testimonial survey? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You bet. Just set it up to go out after the final appointment. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where do I find a client&#8217;s survey answers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Head over to your <a href=\"https:\/\/app.paperbell.com\/provider\/customers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clients<\/a> page and click on the client&#8217;s name. And if <strong>you delete a survey from a package, it will delete all the answers clients have saved to that survey. <\/strong><\/mark><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I delete a survey?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please remember before deleting a survey:<strong> if you delete it, all the answers clients have submitted for that survey will be deleted.<\/strong> If you don&#8217;t want to delete the answers you&#8217;ve gotten, but don&#8217;t want the survey to go out to clients any longer, try changing the trigger to something that doesn&#8217;t come up in that package (say, group sessions if it&#8217;s a package with only 1-1 sessions). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you still want to delete a survey, click into the package and then the <strong>Surveys<\/strong> tab. A survey with no questions won&#8217;t show up for clients. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, check the settings for that survey and make sure it&#8217;s set to go out when you want it to. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Still stumped?
